CO₂ from the controlled combustion of biomass (or other sources) is dissolved in water (H₂O) and converted to carbonic acid (H₂CO₃).
In our reactor, bicarbonate (HCO₃-) is produced by adding natural limestone (CaCO₃) slurry. The mineralised water can now be stored safely in the ocean.
This controlled process allows us to determine exactly how much CO₂ has been extracted and stored, which enables scaling conditions.
